Alpha Crew London to Amsterdam Charity Bike Ride Round-Up

1 2

We’re excited to share with you our round-up of this year's Charity Bike Ride to Amsterdam. This year, we upped the anti! We had a bigger team, a longer journey and a higher fundraising goal. 12 crew and team members took on the challenge, pedalling through tough terrain and weather to raise funds for an amazing cause.

The British Heart Foundation is a UK charity that aims to prevent heart and circulatory diseases and support those affected by them. They fund scientific research, provide education and campaign for better policies and treatments. Donations to the BHF are used to support this vital research, train healthcare professionals, as well as providing care and support for those affected by heart and circulatory diseases.

Dedicated to the memory of our beloved crew member Hassan who tragically passed away in 2021, we were determined once again to honour his memory and raise as much money as we could for a cause that means so much to us all.

London to Amsterdam has been our second ride so far, with our first to Paris raising over £1500 last year. Our new target for this ride was £2000, but together with the help of our supporters we raised DOUBLE this with a total of £4000 going to the British Heart Foundation!

Despite the challenges, the team had an amazing time, pushing themselves to the limit and coming together to achieve something truly special.

Day 1

They set off! All our cyclists met in London at the iconic London Eye to begin their journey. From there, they cycled 80 miles (129km) with a climb of 4,025 feet (1266m) to Dover. This was a really tough leg with the team somehow amassing 12 punctures between them!

Day 2

The team cycled 73 miles (118km) with a climb of 450 feet (137m) from Calais to Bruges. A more successful day with only 2 punctures this time!

Day 3

The second farthest journey on day 3! They cycled from Bruges to Oostvoorne, covering around 78 miles (118km) with a climb of 600 feet (183m).

Day 4

They made it! The team cycled the last 62 miles (98km) and a climb of 600 feet (183m) from Oostvoorne to the finish line, Amsterdam.

Day 5

Home time and a well deserved rest. The team made their way back home via cars, planes, and trains to relax over the Bank Holiday and Easter Weekend.

There are simply not enough words to express how truly grateful we are for everyone who donated, our cycling team, and everyone who supported this year’s ride.

Firstly, a huge thank you to our amazing cyclists who put in so much hard work and dedication to make this ride a success. Without your determination and team spirit this would not have been possible.

We also want to thank our generous donors who contributed to our fundraising efforts. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated, helping us reach and surpass our target will make a real difference for those like Hassan.

Last but not least, we’re grateful to all our supporters who cheered us on and followed our progress along the way. Your encouragement kept us going through the toughest moments, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you again to everyone who played a part in making this year’s charity bike ride a huge success. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and hope you’ll join us again for another incredible journey!
